We are really pleased that you have found our services useful. If you would like to help us continue and improve these services for older people in North Tyneside, here are some ways you can help:
By volunteering with us
We have over 200 volunteers who help by leading walks, visiting housebound older people, supporting activity groups, welcoming our daycentre members, serving in our Coffee Shop and more… Some are regular volunteers, some help occasionally or for specific events. Find out more here.
By giving a donation
Age Concern North Tyneside is a registered charity that relies on donations. Your donation will be gratefully received and used by the organisation to help older people throughout North Tyneside. If you would like to make a donation towards our organisation then, please contact us. Donations
By fundraising for us
We have 25 places for people to run the Great North Run for us, or you could take up one of Age Concern England’s challenges. Or if you would prefer a gentler way, why not host a coffee morning or concert or arrange a sponsored swim or quiz.
By playing the Age Concern Weekly Lottery
A great way of supporting our work and having the chance to win one of our 1,000 weekly prizes for just £1 a week.
By giving unwanted items to Age Concern Charity Shops
These are managed through Age Concern England and 40% of their profits comes back to support local services. The three in our area are at
- 18 West Percy Street, North Shields Tel 257 6339
- 25/29 High Street East, Wallsend Tel 263 8237
- 62 Park View, Whitley Bay Tel 251 0520
By buying our services
- Take up our insurance and other services. Any profits generated by Age Concern from these products and services go directly to support Age Concern’s charitable activities.
- Call into our Coffee Shop at the Bradbury Centre, buy our cards and calendars,
- arrange our private home care or day care if you want them.
All this helps to support the services generally.
By supporting our activities
Our activity groups need plenty of members to keep going, whether it is tai chi or reminiscence or tea dancing. Join in and help them to thrive.
By telling a friend
The best advertisement for our services is by word of mouth recommendation. If you have found us helpful, tell your friends and neighbours all about it.
By keeping in touch
Become a member and receive our newsletter three times a year plus an invitation to our AGM. It is free to join, click here for the membership form.
By remembering us in your will
Leaving a legacy to Age Concern North Tyneside will help to support our services in future.
For more information about any of these ways to help, please call in at the Bradbury Centre or phone (0191) 280 8484.
