Back on Board

People over 50 have a wealth of life experience and skills to offer, but getting a job can be difficult. Back on Board (BoB) gives over 50s the information, guidance and support that may be necessary to make choices about work and learning.

BoB helps people make good use of job search agencies, including Job Centre Plus and to answer any fears about how benefits might be affected. There are weekly sessions to help use internet job searches and on-line job applications.

It also provides information and advice about employment, training and learning opportunities; offers stepping stones back to work, such as volunteering or work shadowing and helps people, particularly those with health problems, to explore new occupational directions. For people over 50 wanting to set up their own business, BoB can help them find the wide range of help available.
